W. G. Tillinghast
Wayne Tillinghast practices in the areas of civil litigation and medical malpractice defense. He is an honors graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Law where he served as an Editor on the Law Review and ranked first in his class. An Adjunct Professor of Law from 1979 to 1999, he taught Trial Practice at the University of Connecticut School of Law. He has been a guest lecturer at bar association and legal organization seminars throughout Connecticut on various aspects of trial practice.
Mr. Tillinghast is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, highly-selective organizations with members chosen by Peer Review Committees. He has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 1989. He is a former President of the Connecticut Academy of Certified Trial Lawyers, as well as a former President of the Connecticut Defense Lawyers Association. He also served as an Attorney Trial Referee for the Connecticut Superior Court.
A Norwich native, Mr. Tillinghast is a graduate of the Norwich Free Academy and served for many years on the Executive Committee of its Board of Trustees, as well as a former Secretary and Vice President of that institution. He authored and published several legal and historical articles, and is a member of the New London County Historical Society, the Rhode Island Historical Society, and the Newport Historical Society.
